Industrial Colour Label Printers
The Epson ColorWorks range is built for high-resolution, full-colour label printing using inkjet technology. Models like the C6000, C6500, and C7500 offer print resolutions up to 1200 x 1200 dpi and are ideal for industries such as food and beverage, chemicals, and general manufacturing. These printers support a wide variety of substrates including paper, synthetics, and even textured materials, and offer features like automatic cutters and peelers for streamlined production. However, Epson’s inkjet-based system requires the use of water-based inkjet-compatible label materials, which can be more expensive and less durable in harsh environments. While Epson excels in precision and colour fidelity—especially with ICC profile and spot colour matching—it may incur higher ongoing media costs due to its inkjet requirements.
In contrast, the OKI Pro Series—including the Pro1040 and Pro1050—uses digital LED and dry toner technology, which allows printing on a broader range of media without the need for specialised inkjet-compatible substrates. This makes OKI printers a more cost-effective solution for businesses looking to reduce consumable expenses. The Pro1040 offers CMYK printing, while the Pro1050 adds a fifth colour (white), enabling printing on transparent or coloured media with an opaque base layer. These printers are designed for short-run, on-demand jobs and offer robust, waterproof, and UV-resistant output suitable for outdoor and industrial use.
